Dental Technology Benefits
Dr. Brent Bailey and Dr. Heather Leyva use state-of-the-art equipment to facilitate a more comfortable and comprehensive dental visit, a more accurate diagnosis and an easy-to-understand explanation of your treatment plan
Intra-Oral Cameras
Small intra-oral cameras allow you to see what we see by taking close-up detailed photos of your teeth and gums and oral structures. This helps us keep custom track of how decay may progress in your mouth, as we know every patient has decay that differs down to the microscopic level.
Intra-Oral Scanners
Our intra-oral scanners allow us to scan the surfaces of your entire mouth, both hard and soft tissue. The scanner merges thousands of images into a video-like file that allows us to see the 3D representation of your mouth. We use this to make trays for Invisalign as well as merge with x-rays to make surgical guides. We also use this to take digital impressions of your mouth to send to the laboratory for restorative procedures such as crowns and veneers.
DIAGNOdent Cavity Detection Pen
Our intra-oral s This pen uses laser fluorescence detection to precisely identify cavities on the biting surfaces of teeth. When cavities on these surfaces form within a deep fissure, they are often difficult for the dentist to feel with an instrument if they have progressed in hard to reach places. This pen reads out a number which correlates to how much destruction there is within that spot. This pen helps with monitoring stains and diagnosing teeth that may need small fillings before they break down.
Cone Beam CT Scans
Ultra low radiation 3D x-rays taken with the same machine as our panoramic x-rays provide detailed knowledge about patients’ anatomy and allows us to investigate issues that otherwise would be hard to detect on regular 2D x-rays. We use this for implant planning, detecting tooth fractures and the beginnings of abscesses, and predicting outcomes of dental extractions.
Digital X-ray
Digital X-rays emit 90% less radiation than traditional X-rays, making it safer for our patients. Digital X-rays allow us to see more detail providing accurate and superior diagnosis. Images can be seen instantly, so there is no waiting for your films to be developed.
Digital Files
Our office uses digital files, X-rays and patient information using the Dentrix computer system, which expedites and simplifies finding, storing and transmitting files, providing our patient with a prompt, more efficient and better customer service.
